After turning 40, I seem to have lost the urgency to chase after my dreams, even though I haven't actually achieved the most important ones. This is unexpected and bewildering and I wonder, what was I striving so hard for? What do you, Murakami-san, think is the point of it all? Am I expecting too much from life?
Dear chasing bawa,
Turning 40 years old is not the end of the world, you know. You still have many years ahead of you. You cannot spend these coming years complaining and regretting. Maybe you have to change your plan a little, that’s all. If you have a dream, you should pursue it. That is your life. Nobody else's. You have a right to expect anything you want from your life. Rearrange your plan and go on. Keep your faith.
