Dear Murakami, I'll try to keep this short. I have been a huge fan of your work for quite a while now. I find that I can almost always relate to the characters (especially the protagonists) in your novels, for they often share similar to one another. Have you based any of them on yourself, on some level?
Thank you for reading my books so closely.
My protagonists are living inside me, but they are not me. They are the theories of myself, so to speak. In other words, they are what I could have been. At the same time, they could be what you could have been. In a sense, we are living in the mutual, theoretic world. Isn’t it nice?
